Minutes of Past Meetings
Minutes for Friday, February 15, 2002
7:30 p.m., at the home of Rob and True Fisher
Attending: Dave Eggler (Treasurer), Gay Dunne, Jim Dunne, Rob Fisher, True Fisher, Colleen Pike Blair (Secretary), Sam Totor (Arts Administrator), Mark Van Horn
Call to order: The meeting opened at 8:18 p.m.
Review of minutes: The minutes from January's meeting were reviewed. Rob moved to approve the minutes as submitted. Mark seconded; motion carried.
Treasurer's Report: Dave's report indicated that BHCA's finances will continue to look a little weak until receipt of PCA funding for general programming, in the spring. True commented that some new funds may be generated from the production of new Walking Tour maps, a project she is currently working on. Jim moved to approve the treasurer's report. Rob seconded; motion carried.
Arts Administrator's Report: Sam distributed the new guide produced by the BICC, so that members could see the latest ad for BHCA. As per recommendations made at January's meeting, Sam issued a letter to local legislators requesting a higher appropriation of state funds for PCA. General correspondence was distributed.
Standing Committees
BHCA Gallery at the Gamble Mill: March 2"d will be the opening date for the next group show (Hexagon - six artists); the reception will be held on March 19. BHCA will notify the Gamble Mill about the need to prepare for a strong attendance at this reception.
Old House Fair: No report.
Summer Sounds: There was some discussion concerning funding for this series. As noted during January's meeting, BHCA's application for funding for last year's series was lost. Funding for this year's application (also misplaced by the Garver Fund committee) is still under review. It was noted that the Elks have consistently been listed on all printed materials as sponsors of the Summer Sounds series, even during the time for which BHCA received no support.
Film Forum: No report.
Library Concerts: The CDT ran an article in the Weekender on Mike Evoch's concert. Sam asked for assistance in distributing extra postcards in State College, to advertise Diane Gold Toulson's upcoming performance. Gay offered to help with this. The next concert will be the Easterly Chamber Players, on April 14th.
Victorian Christmas Arts & Crafts Show: No
report.
Local Government Grants: No report.
Old Business:
New brochure: Sam is working on developing this; Jim will forward some images of old Bellefonte to Sam.
New Business: None
Next Meeting/Adjournment:
Rob moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:15. Gay seconded; motion carried. The next meeting will be held on Friday, March 15'h. Location TBA.
Happy Birthday Jim!!!
