Summer Sounds (Joann): Organization for next summer will begin in February.

Fund Raiser: March 17, 18, & 19 were set as the dates for an antiques & collectibles sale.  Site considerations are the Heilig-Meyers store, the former Mike’s Video store, and the former Wolf Furniture store on the Benner Pike.  Joann will try to secure a location.  Ralph suggested that we make sure we are not competing with a sale at Centre Furnace.  He will check.

Victorian Christmas: The VC Arts & Craft Show committee met on Nov. 10, and selected artists for the Y and The Bellefonte Elementary Schoool.  Forty-three vendor sites were assigned.  Jim & True felt the idea of a third venue for the VC Arts & Craft Show was a good idea.  There was concern that it may be difficult to get enough vendors for this year.  They looked forward to working with Debbie Hamilton & Vana Dainty this year and next year.

Keith announced that the Bellefonte Historical Railroad Society would present a children’s Santa Train this year.  Early sales have been good.  They have a total of 2100 tickets to sell.  Rides on the Santa Train: Saturday, Dec. 18 - 11AM, 1PM, 3PM, 5PM, 7PM; Sunday, Dec. 19 - 1PM, 3PM, 5PM.  Tickets are available at the Bellefonte Train Station.

Centre County Visitors Bureau (CCVB) Advertising:  Keith suggested that BHCA request $1500 as their share of the CCVB grant to HBI.  BHCA was one of several Bellefonte non-profits that joined HBI in the grant application.  The advertising must be done outside of the State College-Bellefonte region.  Jim suggested monthly ads listing events in Bellefonte that would draw visitors to Bellefonte.  Dave Kurtz suggested promoting the Mach 1 kayak group as an attraction to Bellefonte (www.MACH1team.org).

As part of the advertising discussion, Joann discussed the idea of presenting the Glen Miller Orchestra in the spring, but only if we get corporate sponsorship.  She will investigate their availability.

Other Discussions: Colina noted that there are many neighborhood associations in the area to whom BHCA may be able to present our programs and promote our website.  She thought that they could benefit from a link to their website from out site and/or bellefonte.com and they could have a link to ours.  She will be making a presentation to her neighborhood association next week.

It was suggested that we contact BHCA donors to volunteer for some of our activities.  Jim will obtain a list of donors for the last few years.

Next Meeting: Friday, January 21, 7 PM,  at the True Fisher home, 228 N. Allegheny St., Bellefonte

Respectfully submitted,

James Dunne, Secretary
