Fund Raising Activities: 1. Barnes & Noble Book Fair - June 25-27   (Sally) Sally presented a copy of the voucher (see attached) which may be handed out ahead of the weekend and may be used on line for out-of-town purchases using the voucher number (10164663 - bn.com/bookfairs) the entire week of June 21-27.  In house sales are only June 25-27.  Natalie Stanton will get a group to perform at Barnes & Noble on Saturday the 26th.    We need to staff a table from 9 AM - 9 PM on Saturday.  We will need to update our brochure to have available along with other promotional materials such as postcards, programs, lists of events, photographs etc.  Colina recommended we circulate vouchers to book clubs.

2. Artie Shaw Orchestra Concert May 1, 8 -10 PM   We have reserved the Bellefonte High School auditorium from 6:30 PM on for a total fee to the district of $130.  Sally presented the posters. She needs help with the distribution. Posters may also be distributed by email attachment. There was not yet an answer on the availability of the Bellefonte Middle School jazz band.  Gay suggested Roger Munnell as a presenter of an artistic viewpoint session as an alternative to the school jazz band.  Mike Evock and Rick Hirsch were also suggested.  Possible sites for ticket sales: Cool Beans, CO2, Train Station, Woodring’s in State College & Bellefonte.  Maryellen will pursue advertising when she returns to town on 3/21.  We need to promote the event to dance groups such as the Pleasant Gap dance studio, and to the public through PSU websites, nittanyliving.com, statecollege.com, bellefonte.com, bellefontearts.org, and Channel 4 (Tom Wilson).

3. Grants   The grant deadline for The Central Pennsylvania Convention and Visitors Bureau grant is March 30.  HBI is coordinating a group application for Bellefonte nonprofit organizations for capital & marketing expenses.  BHCA needs to supply a budget, a letter of support to HBI, mission statement and a completed application.  Jim & Gay will coordinate the effort.  Bellefonte.com will be a central link for all groups.  The group felt this was a good idea to promote the arts and nonprofit activities in Bellefonte.   Colina suggested a letter to the CDT about the cooperative effort.

Summer Sounds: Joann reported the Army Band will only confirm 90 days in advance.
