Minutes Friday, May 21, 2010
Location: Home of True Fisher, 222 N. Allegheny St., Bellefonte
Attendance: JoAnn Knupp (President), Romayne Naylor (Vice President), Dick Knupp, Mary Vollero, Carl & Nancy Miller, True Fisher, Colina Seeley, Ziggy Coyle, David Bauchspies, Gay & Jim Dunne (Secretary), Dave Eggler (Treasurer).
Minutes (4/16/10): Colina Seeley was not at the 3/19 meeting. Minutes approved as amended (Carl, Colina).
Treasurer’s Report (Eggler): To date, the Artie Shaw Orchestra has lost ~ $2000. Report approved (Gay, Carl).
Artie Shaw Orchestra Concert:: 100 people attended. Ticket receipts were $2460. All who attended felt the concert was a rousing success. Joann suggests we consider a similar concert next year with corporate sponsors such as Comcast. Colina recommended that a budget be in place. We could consider an artist management company that supplies a group of concerts in the area.
Fund Raising: We need to check with the Arts Administrator about the status of the Garver Fund for the 2010 Summer Sounds. Barnes & Noble Bookfair (6/26/2010) signup sheet was completed (True). Joann suggested a yard sale in September in the Cerro building near the Gamble Mill. Ask the email list to donate items: antiques, household items, collectables; no clothes or stuffed animals.
