Treasurer’s Report (Eggler & \below): Donations from the fund raising letter have generated more than $3000 to date. The BHCA share of the profits from the Victorian Arts & Crafts Fair was $2673.44. Both of these have increased from last year’s totals. The report was approved as presented (Gay, Carl).

The next show will be installed January 15.. It is a single artist show featuring Willard Dominick, age 90, of Clearfield, a watercolor artist. His collection of sketches of WWII done while he was in the infantry in the Pacific theater is in the War College, U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, PA. The center has made the collection available to educators, authors and historians. This show is a collection of his works from after the war to the present.
Willard Dominick Retrospective
January 15 - April 15, 2011
Reception: March 29, 7-9 PM
Summer Sounds (JoAnn): The committee is still gathering applications before the first meeting in February. We need to reapply to the Garver Fund. Last year we did not get a grant.
Victorian Christmas: There were many out of town visitors which Sally felt was in part due to the increase in brochure distribution to welcome & visitor centers along Route 80 and elsewhere. Keith reviewed the statistics of the house tour. There were more than 500 visitors to his house, one form outside the USA, 28 from outside of Pennsylvania and visitors from 90 different Pennsylvania communities. Arts & Crafts Show - Sally & Romayne were pleased with the Bellefonte Middle School venue. The artists were also pleased. They hope to get enough additional artists next year to be able to use the gymnasium.
Fund Raiser: Antiques & collectible sale - March 17, 18, & 19 . We are still looking for a suitable site.
HBI - Central Pennsylvania Convention & Visitors Bureau (CPCVB) Advertising: Keith reminded us that BHCA has $1500 as their share of the CPCVB grant to HBI to be spent by July 1. It needs to be spent on promotions outside of the county. A concert such as the Mills Brothers (see below) would be ideal.
Mills Brothers Concert Proposal: Dan Clemson, a Bellfonte native living in Harrisburg and founder of the former Mills Brothers Society, might be able to arrange a concert in Bellefonte. He has been in contact with John Mills. The details are not yet clear. There would be ~ 6 people involved: 2 singers and a 3-4 piece band from Pittsburgh. The Mills Brothers may be a better draw than the Artie Shaw Orchestra. The Mills brothers had Bellefonte ties. There have been two previous concerts here. The discussion: We need a date range for the concert. We should try to schedule a concert when there are no major conflicting events. We need corporate sponsors. Joann got commitments to contact potential sponsors. We need a better cost estimate for the performing group. To execute a good plan we need another meeting in the near future.
Next Meeting: Friday, February 4, 7 PM, at the home of Sally Houser, 716 N. Allegheny St., Bellefonte
Respectfully submitted,
James Dunne, secretary
