(Jim Dunne) - The opening of the Art of the Bellefonte Schools was well and enthusiastically attended. Many of the participating students and their parents attended. Students from Bellefonte School District music programs presented an inspiring concert to accompany the presentation of some pretty amazing works of art K-12. The hors d'oeuvres presented by the Gamble Mill were very popular. The next show:
Women Beyond Form - June 2 - September 14 - Reception: June 12, 7-9 PMTalleyrand Park Committee
(True Fisher) - The projects for stabilization of two of the banks of Spring Creek in the park have been completed. The extension of the Wall behind the gazebo is finished and we will be doing some minor landscaping behind it. And, the bank by the Playground has been stabilized by a "mud sill", designed by the US Fish and Wildlife Services Hydrologist, Larry Brannaka, and organized by the Centre County Conservation District, Wetlands Specialist Ann Donovan (a Talleyrand Park Committee member). The CCCD had funds through a Growing Greener grant, and the Borough and Talleyrand Park Committee also contributed to the effort. Inmates from Rockview assisted in the construction as well as Bellefonte Borough employees who dug the footers and provide the concrete and other services.Summer Sound from the Gazebo
