Jitterbug Contest

Details

The Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association’s Jitterbug Contest was rained out last year, but we’re hoping for sunny skies.  Up to twelve couples can compete for cash prizes -- $250, $100, and $50.  The contest will be held in front of the main stage on the Diamond in front of the Courthouse.  Show up between 2:00 and 2:50 pm on Saturday, June 20 to register and get the number you will wear (needed by our judges to pick the winners).  There will be four short songs.  The first is just a warm-up; the second and third songs will be used by the judges to determine the three finalists.  The last song will determine the first, second, and third prize winners.  If you make it to the fourth song, you’re already a winner.  Look for an old man in a straw hat hanging around the main stage to register.  He has the numbers you need to compete, and he will hand out the prizes.  Be brave, have fun, make money.
