Historic Views of Spring Street

Quaker Meeting House, ca. 1900 — On Stoney Batter, just off Spring Street. Built in 1831 and used until World War I; later the Knights of Columbus.
Daniel Bush Home — On South Spring Street between Bishop and High Streets.
The Bush Home — The Spring Street residence was remodeled as the Markland Hotel and later used by the VFW.
Henry Brockerhoff Home — Formerly at the northeast corner of Bishop and Spring Streets. The home of Henry Brockerhoff, builder of the Brockerhoff Hotel, was demolished in 1961 for a gas station. Its front door was preserved and taken to the State Museum of Pennsylvania.
Old Post Office — 100 block of North Spring Street.
Methodist Church — At Howard and Spring Streets.
First Presbyterian Church — At Spring and Howard Streets. The first church building in Bellefonte, it was remodeled in 1839 in the Greek Revival style before being torn down and replaced in 1868.

The Armory — At Spring and Lamb Streets. Built in 1894 by Col. W. Fred Reynolds and turned over to the National Guard; it was the largest National Guard armory in Pennsylvania at the time.
