YEAR BUILT: 1889

Following a fire in 1888, the First National Bank Building (on the left) was rebuilt in 1889, along with the Crider Exchange Building next door on North Allegheny Street, with its unusual fish-scale tin facade. These two buildings are flamboyant examples of picturesque eclectic "where anything goes" architecture. In the image below, looking north, the Crider Exchange is on the left.
