Stop 37. Friends Graveyard
ADDRESS: Corners of South Spring and West Crawford Streets
Located at the top of South Spring Street, high above Bellefonte, the Quaker Cemetery contains the graves of some of the earliest residents of the area. Many tombstones bear the Valentine name, prominent in the early ironmaking industry of Bellefonte.
To find this location, start at the intersection of Bishop and Allegheny streets, go up South Allegheny Street for about three blocks, turn right, and you will find the historic cemetery enclosed by a stone wall.
