Stop 6. The Manse (First National Bank)

Located at 201 West High Street, at the corner of High and Spring Streets, this was the site of the residence of Rev. Dr. James Linn, pastor of the Bellefonte Presbyterian Church 1810-1868 (see below). His son Judge Samuel Linn was a prominent judge in Pennsylvania and is the person Linn Street was named after. Built in 1881, the present building, once the First National Bank, is a mixture of Gothic, 8th or 9th Century Romanesque, Greek pilastres and some Egyptian architecture. All combine to produce a "picturesque" effect. It is presently the site of law offices.
